BENGALURU: Chief minister BS Yediyurappa will visit New Delhi on Sunday to reportedly discuss

Yediyurappa’s sudden decision to visit the nationa capital, which was fixed late on Saturday evening, has raised hopes of many MLAs. This is the third time the CM is making a visit in as many months to get green signal from the party, but in vain.

According to sources, Yediyurappa decided to meet BJP national president JP Nadda to discuss cabinet expansion as the Election Commission is expected to announce dates of bypoll to Basavakalyan and Sira assembly and Belagavi Lok Sabha seats any time next week. “If byelections are announced, the CM cannot induct anyone from Belagavi, Bidar and Raichur districts due to the poll code. This will ultimately push the exercise to February-end.,” said a source.

He is under pressure from turncoat legislators Munirathna, MTB Nagaraj and R Shankar to make them minister. Another section of MLAs said the CM is unlikely to get the permission immediately and his visit is only to show aspirants that he’s serious about making them ministers.
