BANGALORE: Chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda took time off on Sunday evening to watch 'Prathane', a Kannada film at a theatre in Malleswaram. He was accompanied by his wife Datty, Sudha Murthy of Infosys Foundation, home minister R Ashoka and Sandalwood star Ravichandran, among others.
'Prarthane', directed by journalist Sadashiva Shenoy, features Prakash Raj, Ananthnag, B C Patil and Pavitra Lokesh, among others.

The movie sends out a message on why it's important to protect, preserve and promote Kannada language and its culture.
Sudha Murthy, who has a small role in the movie has been portrayed as the ambassador and Voice of Karnataka. Director Shenoy was inpsired to do the movie following a UN report that made a claim that nearly 12,000 languages in the world, including Kannada, had entered the endangered list.
Although chief minister watched the movie only for about half an hour, his wife and Murthy stayed till the end.
