BENGALURU: Schools, parents and students were elated after the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) results for classes 10 and 12 were announced. Most schools recorded 100% pass percentage and had kids scoring centums in some subjects.
Robert Khin, principal of The Bethany High School, said the institution, parents and students were satisfied with the results.

“The Council has evaluated the results quite well. Several students in our schools have scored centums in different subjects,” he said.
However, some kids felt writing a board examination could have helped them bag better scores. Pravya (name changed), a class 10 student who scored 85%, said she had always wanted more than 95% in her board exam and was disappointed. “It is during board exams that we are told to do our best. I was waiting for it, but did not get a chance to perform,” she added.
Aloysius D’Mello, principal of Greenwood High, said the results were well-received and there was a sense of satisfaction across teachers, students and parents. He added there were students who would have scored even better if they were to write the exam.
Shalini Jagadish, principal, APS Public School, which logged a 100% result like several other institutions, said a few students felt their performance would have been much better had there been an examination. “We told our students not to worry. These are unprecedented times and we assured them that they can always write it again if they want to. I also tell them their well-being is much more important than marks,” she said, adding some students who usually score in the range of 95 and above received marks like 85 and 88.

She added: “Everyone has passed and like every other year, we have churned out excellent results.”
Fr Sunil Fernandes, principal, St Joseph’s Boys’ High School, said the results brought in a sense of fulfilment though there were students who would have liked to write an exam. “Despite all odds, the Council maintained a certain objectivity in tabulating the results, which brought in relief for all students,” he said.
Sreepriya Unnikrishnan, head of school, Ekya School, JP Nagar, said they abided by instructions given by the Council to furnish the cumulative average of students’ scores in their class 9 and 10 school assessments.
“The Council had assured schools of a fair and unbiased result, which is evident from the excellent scores secured by our students. Our teachers put in a lot of effort despite all challenges online classes had thrown up. The results are a true reflection of the students’ ability and are in no way skewed,” she said.
