Bengaluru: Noted high jumper Chethan B, talented paddler Yashaswini Ghorpade (in pic) and upcoming swimmer Tanish George Mathew were among the 15 sportspersons chosen for the 2021 Ekalavya award. The sports awards will be given away at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. Besides Ekalavya, Lifetime achievement, Karnataka Kreeda Ratna and Best institution awards will also be given away, sports minister Narayana Gowda said in a press release on Monday.
The 2021 Winners: Ekalavya award: Chethan B (athletics), Shikha Gautam (badminton), Manoj BM (basketball), Keerti Rangaswamy (cycling), Aditri Vikrant Patil (fencing), Amrut Mudrabet (gymnastics), Sheshegowda BM (hockey), Reshma Murari (lawn tennis), TR Srijay (shooting), Tanish George Mathew (swimming), Yashaswini Ghorpade (table tennis), Hariprasad (volleyball), Suraj Sanju Annikeri (wrestling), HS Sakshat (netball), Raghavendra P (para-athletics).Life-time achievement: Alka N Padathare (cycling), B Anand Kumar (para badminton), HL Shekharappa (yoga), KC Ashok (volleyball), Ravindra Shetty (kabaddi), BG Amarnath (yoga).
