BANGALORE: A central team is expected to assess rain damage in Karnataka by next week, chief secretary Sudhakar Rao said here on Monday.
The state has estimated Rs 550-crore loss in 14 districts.
It will seek central assistance for relief efforts. "We have, however, asked deputy commissioners to go ahead with emergency relief.
They will release compensation to affected families," Rao added.
