CBI raids continue on Reddy's AMC

For the second day, the 24-member Karnataka CBI team led by Subramanya Rao continued its raids in Bellary on Tuesday at four premises including former minister G Janardhana Reddy's owned Associated Mining Company (AMC), as well as Jindal Steel Works (JSW) and Deccan Mining Syndicate.

BELLARY: For the second day, the 24-member Karnataka CBI team led by Subramanya Rao continued its raids in Bellary on Tuesday at four premises including former minister G Janardhana Reddy's owned Associated Mining Company (AMC), as well as Jindal Steel Works (JSW) and Deccan Mining Syndicate.
CBI officials at JSW office in Toranagal are said to be going through all iron ore purchase orders since 2000.

The team also said went to the office of South West Mining Company, which is charged with paying kickbacks to former CM B S Yeddyurappa's family concern firm in the Lokayukta report.
Sleuths swooped down on the residence of Mithilesh, son of deceased owner V N Jayaram of V Nagappa Mines, at Y Nagesha Shastrinagar, Bellary. These mines are said to have commercial transactions with AMC. The officials also went to its office in Cantonment with searches continuing late into the evening.
Meanwhile, Rao's team visited the Integrated Logistics Company office at the industrial area in Hospet. The Lokayukta report indicted Somashekhar, owner of ILC for his involvement in the disappearance of iron ore stocked at Belikeri port in Karwar.
The report mentioned documents of the company's extensive commercial links with AMC. The residence of V Padmavathi, personal secretary of Somashekhar, was also raided and some important documents seized.
