driver transporting cash to ATMs

allegedly drove away with bank notes worth Rs 1.37 crore from KG Road here on Wednesday. The vehicle had been loaded with new 2,000-rupee notes apart from 1,000 notes of 100-rupee denomination.

The driver, Dominic Roy (40), had joined the rolls of Secure Transit, a security agency, on November 1. Hours later, police raided his house but found nothing.

Secure Transit manager S Shivakumar filed a police complaint saying the incident occurred between 1.30pm and 1.45pm. The company provides vehicles and drivers to banks to move cash to ATMs.

"We are checking the antecedents of Dominic. We have formed three special teams, including one which works on technical aspects like tracing mobile tower location," DCP (West) MN Anucheth told TOI over phone.
