BENGALURU: More than 40 cartoons, highlighting issues related to road safety, are on display at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. The event is part of the state transport department's drive to create awareness on good road practices.
The creators of the seven best cartoons were awarded by transport minister Ramalinga Reddy and actor Harshika Poonacha on Tuesday. The cartoons depicted the hazards of driving without wearing helmets or seat-belts, while talking on the phone, or crossing the road with headphones plugged into the ears.

The winner of the competition, Chandra Gangolli, who works with a Kannada newspaper, had depicted how using cellphones while driving could be fatal through his Selfie with Yamaraj cartoon.
Raeesa, a 15-year-old student from Udupi, was awarded a special prize for her work.
