Car-borne gang loots contractor

bangalore: in a daring robbery, four armed men who came in an ambassador car intercepted another car near kamaraj road and veerapillai street junction on friday night. the gang looted rs 60,000 from the car owner after damaging the window panes of the car and throwing chilli powder into his eyes. fifty-year-old naseer ahmed, a contractor for hal was returning home from the airport.he had kept cash in a suitcase which also contained some documents. the miscreants fled with the suitcase after assaulting naseer ahmed. the commercial street police have registered a case of robbery. in another incident, a gold chain worth around rs 20,000 was snatched from malathi (34), a railway department employee in jnanabharathi police limits on friday. malathi was walking on the road accompanied by a friend vani when this incident happened. driver killed: a person suspected to be a lorry driver died in a road accident reported between a matador van and a lorry near navarang theater in rajajinagar on friday night. held for flesh trade: the upparpet police arrested 10 women on charges of resorting to street prostitution near the ksrtc bus stand on friday.
