Builder arrested for forgery

Indiranagar police arrested Muniraju, 37, a developer who had allegedly forged documents pertaining to the Housing Urban Development Corporation (Hudco) to cheat his customers.
Muniraju had allegedly produced a forged no objection certificate (NOC), supposedly from Hudco, before a private bank to sell the apartments he had built, after taking a loan from Hudco earlier.
Muniraju, proprietor of Manjunath Land Development and Constructions in Indiranagar, had applied for a loan amount of Rs 11.7 crore to build apartments in KR Puram.
But he had not yet got the NOC from Hudco and when his customers wanted the NOC to get their bank loans approved, he had forged the approval and given it to them.
Later, a Hudco official had complained to the police about it and the police had arrested him. Police are also looking for another accused G Umadevi, who is at large.
