BANGALORE: Justice L Narayana Swamy will hear on Thursday the two anticipatory bail petitions of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa. The petitions were filed on Tuesday, within hours of summons served on Yeddyurappa in one of the cases pending before the Lokayukta court.
Yeddyurappa’s counsel moved the court on Wednesday for early listing of the petition and the same was acceded.
The Lokayukta court had issued summons to Yeddyurappa on August 8 on a complaint filed by advocate Sirajin Basha over denotification of lands. Yeddyurappa’s second anticipatory bail petition is in relation to an FIR lodged by Lokayukta police on a complaint by JD(S) spokesperson Y S V Dutta. The complaint pertains to award of civil contracts for Upper Bhadra project and alleged receipt of Rs 13 cr kickback.
