The magistrate, after perusing Sindhuri's sworn statement containing instances of various allegations made by Roopa, said there is sufficient material to proceed against her and hence registration of criminal case and issuance of summons is necessary.

In her defamation complaint, Sindhuri said Roopa's comments, allegations on Facebook as well as in electronic and print media were defamatory in nature and were made with an intention to tarnish her personal, professional and social image.
