Bodies of 2 boys killed by mom, lover exhumed
Bengaluru: The bodies of two-year-old toddler Kabila and his 11-month-old sibling Kabilan, who were killed allegedly by their mother and her lover in Ramanagara, were exhumed from a graveyard in the town Monday. A senior police officer said the bodies had just begun to decompose.
After the bodies were exhumed, they were subjected to postmortem. “It will take a few days for doctors to prepare a report and give it to us,” the police officer added. The bodies were handed over to the father, Shiva, a BBMP pourakarmika.
The accused, Sweety, 22, resident of AK Colony in DJ Halli, east Bengaluru and a domestic help, and her lover Gregory Francis, 30, also from DJ Halli and a call centre employee, killed Kabila by brutally assaulting him on Sept 30 midnight and buried his body in a graveyard at Kempegowda Circle on Jalamanagala Road the next day, police said.
Then they strangled Kabilan in the early hours of Oct 6 and buried the body in the same graveyard on Oct 7.
After eloping from her house, Sweety lived with Francis in a rented accommodation. The accused are sticking to their statements from the time of arrest that they killed the children as they were disturbing their love life. “We have already conducted a mahazar (spot inspection). The duo will be produced before court and sent to judicial custody,” the officer said.
