Replying to a query, he said he was in agreement with his party president Venkaiah Naidu that a legislation was necessary to bar persons of foreign origin from holding top posts in the country.
Even as Bangarappa hailed the achievements of the NDA government led by prime Minister A B Vajpayee, in an abrupt development his actor turned politician son, Kumar Bangarappa who recently followed him to BJP, announced at Shimoga his plans to quit BJP.
Kumar Bangarappa dubbed BJP a "communal" party and disapproved his father''s action of joining it.
BJP denied ticket to Kumar Bangarappa and chose his younger brother Madhu Bangarappa to fight the Sorab assembly constituency, a bastion of Bangarappa''s family.
