The former CM along with some of his party colleagues like MLAs BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan and Bandeppa Kashempur is leaving by a special flight to visit Hazart Khawaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty Dargah.
The BJP wouldn't have had any problem with his pilgrimage if not for the assembly polls.
1x1 polls
The JD(S) leader has announced that he would announce the first list of his party candidates after offering prayers at the Ajmer Dargah.
Both Congress and JD(S) are trying hard to woo the 12% Muslim population in the state. Though Kumaraswamy has visited Ajmer in the past, the timing of his trip now has annoyed the opposition.
The BJP feel the Gowdas are trying to lure voters in the name and guise of religion. The party filed a complaint to the chief electoral officer, in which it stated:It is sad and condemnable that JD(S) is resorting to this illegal practice of wooing voters in the name of religion and by manipulating religious sentiments. I t is a violation of the election code of conduct.''
The BJP has also filed another complaint with the election authorities against union minority welfare minister Rahman Khan, who has reportedly said that there was a need to set up exclusive courts for Muslims and speedy disposal of cases against Muslim youth.
