BANGALORE: The state BJP on Monday accused chief minister S.M. Krishna of double standards on his proposal to launch a yatra after his party criticised deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani''s Bharat Uday Yatra.
Speaking to reporters, BJP spokesperson S. Suresh Kumar said: "In a way, we are pleased, because imitation is the best form of flattery. However, the Congress should refrain from criticising what we do, because it eventually ends up replicating it."
Kumar also termed Krishna''s letter to the EC seeking permission for ministers to oversee drought relief work as a ''highly objectionable'' request.

"We urge the EC not to give permission since it will become a licence for them to misuse official machinery. The bureaucracy is well equipped to monitor drought relief and they should be allowed to do continue with it," he stated.
Former minister K.M. Muniyappa, former MLA M. Srinivas and former MLC Honnappa along with 200 AIPJD workers from Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Sidlaghatta, Bagepalli, Gauribidanur and Gudibande taluks joined the BJP.
The BJP city unit launched a door-to-door campaign in Malleswaram as part of the Atal Sandesh Yatra.
