BANGALORE: It has been months since residents on this lane got water connections. However, not a drop has been supplied to ten houses on III Main, Kaggadasapura Road.
V R Subramanyam, who has been staying here for five years, was sanctioned a connection without much trouble. Despite the process having been completed, there has been no supply since March.
However, he continues to pay the monthly minimum water charges. "I had to pay Rs 5,175 towards connection charges and now pay minimum charges though no water is supplied," he told TOI.
His neighbour Anil Kumar's plight is worse. The owner of a two-storey house on a 32ft x 43ft plot, he had to pay nearly Rs 1 lakh for the connection. But he's been waiting for water since May. He said BWSSB laid connections in this area three years ago. "Why is our lane deprived of water when adjacent ones get regular supply? Reasons given for the delay seem vague and change every time we meet the authorities," he said.
