BENGALURU: Officials of the state government and 20 solo travellers undertook a motorcycle ride to Hampi on Saturday. It's the first time that the tourism department is partnering with Wicked Ride, a bike rental company, to promote motorcycle tourism which is very popular among Americans and Europeans.
The Ride to Hampi is being taken up as a pilot project to understand the potential of motorcycle tourism in
Karnataka. The ride was flagged off from Bengaluru by tourism minister Priyank Kharge at 6am. It also saw 10 solo women riders and a few others who won radio competitions to be part of this trip.
Naveen Raj Singh, principal secretary, tourism department, said, “The pilot ride was completed successfully. We received a warm welcome from youths all along the way.
