2 walkers bitten by stray dogs at Bangalore University campus; BBMP seeks report

BENGALURU: Two regular walkers at Bangalore University were bitten by dogs on the institute's campus on Tuesday morning. This incident occurred just a day after the Supreme Court's relocation of dogs order in Delhi, spurring debates on dog menace and dog safety.

Suralkar Vikas Kishor, Special Commissioner, Health and Sanitation Department, BBMP, told TOI: "In Bangalore University campus, two students were bitten and admitted to a private hospital and treated. Both are out of danger. We are seeking a detailed report from the local officials." "

According to preliminary information, the incident took place in the morning. Apparently, there were more than four to five dogs. The two female students were regular walkers.

The dogs were also from the same area. We are inquiring into that aspect to understand why there was a sudden provocation or reason for the bite to have happened."

While sources said the incident took place at Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economics University, which is on the BU campus, officials from both institutes did not respond to calls. Fortis Hospital, where the girls were being treated, declined to comment as there was no consent from the families
