BENGALURU: A city police constable, and a Whitefield resident died after the car they were travelling in hit a median, and subsequently plunged into a ditch at Dhone Junction, near Kurnool in
Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday morning. Probationary sub-inspector Srinivas, who was travelling with them, escaped with a few injuries.
The constable has been identified as
Suresh, 26, while the other victim was
Jayanna, 30.
The three individuals were on the trail of a 19-year-old girl, the daughter of a revenue department official, who went missing two months ago. Srinivas and Suresh, along with Jayanna, the girl's relative, set off for Hyderabad in a car, and the accident occurred en route.
Jayanna, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle. “The car rolled multiple times before landing in the ditch,“ a Bengaluru cop said.
