BENGALURU: Daddy Kool, a show by stand-up comedian
Atul Khatri was slated to be staged at Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan on Sunday but had to be cancelled as its organisers approached cops for permission in the last minute.
A police officer said: "The organisers approached jurisdictional High Grounds police station on Saturday afternoon with an application saying they were hosting the comedy show for Sunday.
The application never mentioned details of the comedian, the audience or other related issues. Also, such applications should reach us at least three days prior to the show so that we have time to bring the matter to the notice of senior police officials. In the backdrop of next year's elections, it is very important to know the history and antecedents of the organisers and participants."
Mohammed Touqeer, head of operations, Confiar Media Production Pvt Ltd, which had organised the show, refused to comment on the issue, saying they need time to react.
