Bengaluru: 9th truck-mounted machine to sweep areas clean

A truck-mounted sweeping machine donated by construction major L&T to BBMP will soon be cleaning major roads in

Yelahanka

and

Bytarayanapura

, in north-eastern parts of the city.

The machine can mop up mud/dust up to six cubic meters. Usually, pourakarmikas are not asked to sweep high-density traffic corridors or major roads due to the risks involved. With this, the civic agency has nine truckmounted sweeping machines now.

, business head, L&T Realty Developers Ltd, handed over the truck-mounted mechanical sweeping machine costing Rs 65 lakh to BBMP administrator Rakesh Singh and chief commissioner Gaurav Gupta on Monday.
