African nationals

on Monday morning for staying without having valid passport and visa in Bengaluru.


Police conducted raids on 35 houses in Hennur and Banasawadi and also recovered fake currencies from a house.

"On complaints, 35 houses where Africans and other foriegners were staying in Hennu and

Banaswadi

areas were raided by the CCB. Seven people were caught without valid passports and visa," Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) said.

On Monday, east division police had also arrested six African national from Hennur on charges of overstaying.

"Special drive is being undertaken against illegal staying of foreigners. A team of 120 CCB officers raided houses in Hennur,

, Kothanur and checked 85 foreigners. We have found 20 Africans to be staying without valid passport and visa. Fake Indian currencies, US dollars, UK pound were seized from a house. We have seized several laptops and it is suspected that they are involved in cyber offences also. Further investigation on," Patil said.
