Police said the accused is MR Devaraj, a resident of Venkatapura, who worked as a cook in HSR Layout V Phase. The deceased was identified as his colleague and Channegowda.

Police said the two men were in a relationship but had a fight after Channegowda upbraided Devaraj at the restaurant in front of other staff and customers a few days ago. Devaraj decided to kill Channegowda to take revenge for the humiliation.

Police said Devaraj took Channegowda to the burial ground to drink. He allegedly hit Channegowda over the head with a beer bottle and then hit him with a boulder and fled.

Clue from

crime scene

Police said they tracked down Devaraj with the help of a

bank slip

found at the crime scene. Devaraj had recently deposited money in a bank and dropped the challan at the crime scene. Police collected his details from the bank and detained him. He confessed during interrogation, police said. Deveraj has been produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
