Bangladesh boy gets new life at hospital in Bangalore
BANGALORE: Parents of 10-year old Mohammad (name changed), a Bangladesh national, were running from pillar to post to find a solution for the rare problem their son faced. Mohammad was constantly suffering from severe headache, blurring of vision and convulsion since 4 years. He even once suffered from a mild stroke.
The doctors back home were unable to diagnose his problem.

Little did they know that young Mohammad was suffering from rare BP causing tumor- Phaeochromocytoma causing severe hypertension. He was brought to Vydehi Hospital in Whitefield, Bangalore last month, where a team of experts diagnosed his disease.
He underwent a surgery under the team of doctors headed by pediatric surgeon, Dr Dhiraj K Balaji, an anesthetist, pediatric intensivist and endocrinologist. After a 4-hour long surgery, the high vascular tumor situated in a very precarious position was gently resected. The tumor about the size of a cricket ball was removed.
Mohammad's BP was brought under control gradually and he recovered in about 10 days time. "Mohammad is now free of all symptoms and is leading a very normal life. He was discharged last week," said the hospital sources.
