NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party's Tejasvin Surya won the Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency by defeating Congress' Sowmya Reddy.
Bangalore South in one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka state in southern India went into election on April 26, in the second phase of the general election with a total turnout of 53.17%.

The election featured a competitive race between the incumbent Tejasvi Surya from the BJP and Congress's candidate, Sowmya Reddy, both striving to claim the parliamentary seat. Sowmya Reddy is the general secretary of the All India Mahila Congress and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee. Reddy had lost the Jayanagar assembly election in 2023 by just 16 votes – a seat the Congress had won five times since 1989.
