Bangalore Rural has become a notable constituency due to the dynamic contest between CN Manjunath, a cardiologist running as the BJP candidate and son-in-law of JD(S) leader HD Deve Gowda, and incumbent Congress MP DK Suresh. Suresh, the only Congress MP from Karnataka, recently sparked controversy with his comments about forming a separate nation for southern states, citing perceived unfair treatment by the central government regarding tax distribution. The voters this time voted for development in the constituency which is just 80 Km from Banglore.
