Bengaluru: Karnataka’s Ayush Shetty will represent India in the boys singles at the BWF World Junior Championships at Santander, Spain, from October 17-30. Two other state players — Nicholas Nathan Raj and Tushar Suveer — figure in the boys doubles event.
Seven players from the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy are in the list. Besides Ayush, Tushar and Nicholas, the others include Bharat Raghav, newly-crowned junior world number one Anupama Upadhyaya, Devika Sihag and Isharani Baruah. The team was selected based on the performance at the trials held in Raipur last month.
Team: Boys: Singles: Bharat Raghav, Sankar Muthuswamy, Ayush Shetty. Doubles: Arsh Mohammad / Abhinav Thakur; Nicholas Nathan Raj / Tushar Suveer. Girls: Singles: Unnati Hooda, Rakshitha Sree S, Anupama Upadhyaya. Doubles: Isharani Baruah / Devika Sihag; Shreya Balaji / Srinidhi N. Mixed doubles: Samarveer / Radhika Sharma; Vighnesh Thathineni / Sri Sai Sravya Lakkamraju. tnn
