BENGALURU: V Dinesh Kumar, one of the Attibele firecracker accident victims admitted to Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru, died on Wednesday afternoon.
The patient developed infections following burn injuies and died around 3 pm on Wednesday, said hospital authorities. With this, the death toll rises to 15.
Four other people injured in the accident are still undergoing treatment in hospitals in Bengaluru and Hosur.
All three patients admitted to St John’s Medical College Hospital, Bengaluru were taken to the operation theatre on Tuesday.
“They underwent extensive assessment, some grafting of skin and other interventions as needed. Surface area injured still remains the same. (Naveen Reddy suffers 17-20% and Venkatesh and Rajesh 30-40%>.) Naveen Reddy is fairly stable, the others are still in critical care. Treatment is ongoing,” Dr Arvind Kathuri, chief of medical services at St John’s Medical College Hospital, Bengaluru told TOI.
