Bengaluru Eyes Global Sporting Glory

Bengaluru's temperate environment provides an inherent advantage; however, to attract premier global sporting events, a world-class infrastructure is required. By upgrading existing stadiums, as well as new venue construction, Bengaluru can ultimately position itself to be India’s next international sports hub capable of hosting the Olympics, Athletics and World Championships.

2/8

Track Dreams Take Shape

Most existing athletics tracks do not meet international standards; therefore, improved track surfaces, enhanced drainage and runner-friendly layouts are necessary in order to successfully execute top-level competitive athletics on a global scale. An improved track will allow Bengaluru to develop elite athletic talent and provide opportunities to host events of a quality consistent with international standards.

3/8

Football Futures Get A Kick Start

Currently, limited numbers of football fields force teams to share multipurpose stadiums, resulting in scheduling conflicts. To successfully host professional leagues, institutes of learning and training, along with international match-ups, purpose-built stadiums with modern amenities, field turf and seating will provide the necessary venue for players and their fans.

4/8

Hockey’s High Stakes

In order for the Hockey arena to function well, current artificial turf must be upgraded to more modern, safer models. When properly invested, these types of venues will continue to reduce injuries, promote an environment of healthy competition and allow Bengaluru to continue on its path to reclaiming its place as a dominant city in the history of hockey. Modern hockey facilities will also provide opportunities to stage both domestic and international hockey events.

5/8

Multi-sport Venues Need a Makeover

Multi-purpose grounds often lead to scheduling conflicts and limited training access. Upgrading existing venues and creating specialized arenas for specific sports will enhance performance, allow simultaneous events, and build Bengaluru’s reputation as a multi-sport city.

6/8

Spectator Experience Matters

Stadia need modern seating, accessible entry points, organized parking, and fan-friendly amenities. A focus on safety and comfort will attract larger audiences, improve event management, and create a vibrant sports culture, essential for hosting large-scale competitions.

7/8

Future-ready Sports Infrastructure

To prepare for Olympics, world championships, and other global events, Bengaluru must combine renovation of existing facilities with construction of new ones. Upgrades across all major sports—athletics, football, hockey, tennis, swimming, and indoor games—will position the city as a serious contender for international tournaments.

8/8

Building the City of Champions

Combining the renovation of existing facilities with the construction of new venues across football, athletics, hockey, tennis, swimming, and indoor sports will prepare Bengaluru for the Olympics, world championships, and other major events, transforming it into a global sports destination.
