BANGALORE: Chandramma (65) was found murdered in her house in Cubbonpet on Sunday morning. She's been living alone in this house since 1996. Neighbours and relatives said she never opened the door without checking on the person through the window. The 65-year-old wife of Narasimaiah moved into this house on Anjaneya Temple Street, Chaal Galli in Cubbonpet, in 1976.
Chandramma spoke to her neighbours on Saturday night, the police said. On Sunday, at 8 am, the maid Lakshmamma saw the door open and found Chandramma lying in a pool of blood in her bedroom; het throat was slit with a sharp object. Jewellery and cash were missing from the house. However, her gold earrings were left intact. “We go to the temple every morning. When there was no sign of Chandramma, we sent the maid to fetch her,'' said Savitramma and Nagaveni, her neighbours. Joint commissioner of police (crime) Gopal B Hosur, who visited the murder spot, said there is a similarity between Chandramma and Asha Krishnamurthy's murders.
