BANGALORE: With air traffic to southern India booming, the under-construction Bangalore international airport in Devanahalli is considering immediate expansion plans.
Infrastructure secretary Vinay Kumar disclosed this to The Times of India on Monday after a site visit with Union civil aviation secretary Ajay Prasad.
A meeting of BIAL, Airports Authority of India and state government representatives in Zurich will address the issue on Tuesday.

"The secretary had expressed concern that the airport's design to handle 4.5 million passengers would be inadequate. We assured him that the issue of additionalities would be tackled," he said.
Prasad paid a visit to both the upcoming Hyderabad and Bangalore international airports on Monday. Kumar said: "We are ahead of schedule here. The secretary said he was happy with the pace of both airports."
