Aakash KJ and Anargya Manjunath emerged triumphant in the U-19 category at the State ranking table tennis tournament organized by the Bellary District Table Tennis Association in Hospet on Sunday.

Aakash (WCTTC) claimed the boys title, defeating PV Srikanth Kashyap after dropping the first game 2-11, 11-8, 12-10, 6-11, 11-2, 11-5. In the girls’ section, Anargya was surprised by Deshna M Vanshika’s aggression as she trailed 1-3 before bouncing back to prevail 11-13, 13-11, 5-11, 4-11, 12-10, 11-8, 12-10.
Deshna (BNM) was victorious among U-17 girls, ousting Sahana H Murthy 8-11, 12-10, 11-7, 11-6, 16-14. Rohith Shankar won the boys’ crown, easing past BR Gaurav 11-7, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6.
Gaurav finished as the runner-up in the U-15 boys’ category as well, with Ayush K (SBTTA) beating him 11-9, 12-10, 2-11, 11-13, 11-6, 11-6 in the final. Neeti Agrawal (Checkmate) took home the girls’ title, with a facile 11-9, 11-7, 11-8, 11-8 win over Saanvi Vishal Mandekar.
