A win at last for Blasters

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Blasters ended their eight-match losing streak in their penultimate fixture, beating Mysuru Warriors by 11 runs at the KSCA Maharaja Trophy T20 tournament. At the M Chinnaswamy stadium here on Friday, Warriors finished on 202/8 in reply to Blasters’ total of 212/4.A century from Mayank Agarwal (105 off 57 balls) and a four-wicket haul by off-spinner Mohsin Khan (4/35) helped Blasters overcome a blitzkrieg from Warriors' impact player SU Karthik (70, 30b; 4c6; 6x6).Skipper Agarwal and D Nischal (29) figured in a 97-run partnership for the second wicket. Suraj Ahuja provided the big finish for the Blasters with an unbeaten 10-ball 35.Warriors rained boundaries as Karthik brought up the fastest half-century of the tournament in 22 balls to take the team to 88/1, the highest powerplay score in this edition. But debutant off spinner Mohsin and chinaman Sarfaraz Ashraf turned the game in Blasters’ favour.Shreyas’ all-round show in vainSkipper Shreyas Gopal's all-round effort (31 & 4-30) went in vain as Shivamogga Lions were handed a three-wicket defeat by Hubli Tigers.
