Four-time MLA from Anekal, was born in September 1957. An Arts graduate, he is a first-time minister. His only aim was to become a minister and for that he had declined to accept the appointment as chairman of the Karnataka Slum Clearance Board. Has keen interest in sports.

S A Ramdas, medical education minister
Three-time MLA from Krishnaraja in Mysore, Ramdas had vowed not to enter the assembly unless Yeddyurappa dropped Shobha from the cabinet last year, and entered the House only after she quit. Besides law, he has passed MBA and is known for his organizing skills.
C H Vijayashankar, forest minister
Two-time MP from Mysore and MLC Vijayashankar was born in October 1956. An LL.B graduate, he practises yoga regularly. Though he lost parliamentary elections last year, he was made MLC for his organizing skills.

V Somanna, food and civil supplies minister
He is one of the CM's blue-eyed boys. Though he was a Congress MLA during the JD-BJP coalition government, Yeddyurappa used Somanna as a bridge between him and CM H D Kumaraswamy. Born in July 1951. He was Bangalore Mahanagara Palike member and MLA four times.
Shobha Karandlaje, energy minister
Another of the CM's favourites, she was born in October 1966. A post-graduate in sociology, she was dropped as minister a year ago.
