BENGALURU: Police from two stations arrested nine men and recovered 17 stolen cars and 27 bikes from them. In the first case, Rajagopalnagar police arrested seven men and recovered 17 four wheelers. The men would steal the cars after hiring them.
The accused were identified as
Jeevan Kumar, Srinivas,
Manjunath Gowda, Sagar, Amjad Ahmed, Noorulla Khan and
Praveen Kumar, all residents of Rajagopalnagar and surrounding areas and in their late 20s.
“The gang would hire cabs for outstation trips, befriend the driver, buy him alcohol and drive away leaving him behind,” police said, adding that they would then sell the cars by changing the colour and numberplate.
Jalahalli police arrested N Niranjan and Nitin Kumar and recovered 27 bikes worth Rs 9 lakh from them.
