BANGALORE: Six persons were killed in separate accidents since Monday night. Tunga Nataraj (57), a construction worker in Ramamurthy Nagar, was run over by a water tanker near Bagalur Cross, Yelahanka, on Monday night. Tunga hitched a ride with her colleague, a painter, on his cycle to board a bus at Bagalur Cross. The painter lost balance near the bus stand and the duo fell on the road, and Tunga was run over.
The water tank driver has been arrested.
In the second accident, Ankenappa (50) was mowed down by an unknown vehicle in front of the APMC Yard near HAL Airport on Monday night. The victim was crossing the road when he was knocked down. A biker died on the spot after being hit by a private bus near Kastoori Nagar I Cross at 9 am on Tuesday. The deceased, Parameshwar (25), was a resident of Devasandra. The bus driver fled the spot and the police are on the look-out for him.Another motorcyclist was knocked down by an unknown vehicle in RT Nagar traffic limits on Monday night. The deceased, Nanjunde Gowda (43), was a shopowner in Yelahanaka. Two pedestrians were knocked down by a BMTC bus and tractor in Hebbal and Indiranagar traffic limits on Monday, respectively.
