50% rebate on traffic fines returns

Bengaluru: For the second time in the year, the government has announced a 50% cut in fines for traffic offences registered on or before February 11, 2023.
The offer, which begins Thursday, will be valid for 66 days (till September 9).
On February 3, the government had announced discount for traffic offences registered across the state. The offer closed on February 11. However, owing to huge response, it was extended between March 4 and 18. Penalties totalling Rs 135 crore were paid towards 50 lakh-plus violations in Bengaluru alone.
“The e-challans issued for traffic violations that took place on or before February 11 this year will be considered for the 50% cutoff,” joint commissioner of police (traffic) MN Anucheth said. For more details, visit Bengaluru city traffic police website (https://btp.gov.in/Default.aspx. tnn
