A 45-year-old person was hacked to death by his co-worker inside a poultry centre near Briand Square near Chickpet late on Monday night.

BANGALORE: A 45-year-old person was hacked to death by his co-worker inside a poultry centre near Briand Square near Chickpet late on Monday night.
Victim Saleem Baig is a resident of Tannery Road, said police.
During investigation, police found that Fairoz Khan, who was working with Baig at the centre, had murdered his colleague. Fairoz is absconding.

Saleem had been working with Bangalore Poultry Centre (BPC) owned by Mazhar Khan for the past 30 years. He would down shutters of BPC around 11pm every night and meet Mazhar Khan at the latter's residence and hand over the day's earnings.
There were four workers at BPC, including Saleem and Fairoz. The other two workers had taken leave on Monday.
Mazhar grew suspicious when Saleem did not turn up even after 1am. He went to BPC along with his son and found Saleem lying in a pool of blood. He immediately alerted the police who rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Victoria Hospital for post mortem.
