BENGALURU: Three persons, including a woman, were arrested for allegedly throwing toilet cleaner on a theatre artist, who sustained burns on her neck and shoulder.
The accused are
Ramesh, 41, a civil contractor, Yogish, 33, an auto driver, and
Swati
, 41, a theatre artist.
Devi
, 51, a resident of
Nandini Layout
, is under treatment at Victoria Hospital.
Police said Devi and Swati worked as theatre artists and Ramesh also donned grease paint frequently. Police said Ramesh and Devi became close friends, and he separated from his wife. But Ramesh later developed differences with Devi and felt she was the main reason for his family problems. He allegedly sought Swati’s help to take revenge.
Ramesh and Swati hired Yogish to throw acid on her and gave him Rs 10,000. Yogish threw toilet cleaner on Devi when she was sleeping at home, police said. The woman, who stays with her two minor children, suffered 10% burns and is said to be stable now.
