BENGALURU: Seven bike-lifters from Andhra Pradesh were arrested and 30 two-wheelers, including 27 Royal Enfield bikes worth over Rs 60 lakh, two Bajaj Pulsars and a scooter, recovered from them.

The accused are

Vijay Bandi

, 25, Hemanth R, 27, Gunashekara Reddy P, 30, Bhanu Murthy G, 25,

Purushottam Naidu

, 25, Karthik Kumar G, 27, and

Kiran Kumar K

, 22, all from Chittoor, AP. Police said the suspects included engineers, MBA and diploma holders. One gang member is absconding.

The suspects told police they were inspired by crime movies and content on popular video-sharing platforms. They ganged up to make a quick buck and stole vehicles in the city and sold them in Andhra Pradesh.
