While Muniraju and his family members are aware that milk from their cattle is in huge demand, hardly have they themselves tasted the cheese made of it. “We know it’s in demand and hence we maintain hygiene in the cattleshed and make sure we provide best-quality milk,” says Muniraju.

The food given to the cattle makes all the difference, says

, Muniraju’s brother. “We provide fodder like jowar stalk, grass, gram flour and barley. There is hardly any green space around KR Puram to let the cattle graze,” he says. The family supplies nearly 160 litres of milk every day to
