25 flights, 7 pairs of trains cancelled between Bengaluru and Chennai
BENGALURU: With cyclone 'Vardah' becoming stronger in Chennai, 25 direct flights have been cancelled between Bengaluru and Chennai on Monday. The
KIA spokesperson also said 16 other flights that were said to land in Chennai airport have been diverted to KIA-Bengaluru. However, the international airport too is expected to receive one or two spells of light rain.
Trains:
Nine trains between Chennai and Bengaluru were cancelled on Monday till Tuesday including the Chennai mail, Lalbagh express, Double Decker express, Bengaluru--Chennai Shatabdi Express, Brindavan express were cancelled from Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) Bengaluru ciry station. The Mysuru--Bengaluru--Chennai Shatabdi express is partially cancelled, which means it will terminate at Katpadi station and return. South Western railways Bengaluru division officials said that the other long distance trains that come via Chennai were running on time as of Monday afternoon.
Buses:
KSRTC said all its morning schedules buses to and fro Chennai have been operated normally. It is yet to decide on the night services between Bengaluru and Chennai and Tuesday's operations depending on the weather department's alerts.
Kempegowda International Airport
(KIA) Bengaluru officials said 11 direct flights arriving from Chennai and 14 departures from Bengaluru have been cancelled due to the cyclone. There are 22 arrivals and 31 departures daily, flying directly between the two cities.Trains:
