2 more foreigners surface in voters' list
MANGALORE: Investigations by the Dakshina Kannada police have revealed more goof-ups in the voters'' list. And two more persons of foreign origin, without Indian citizenship have been found in the voters'' list —taking the total to four.
They have been identified as Dr P S M Amir Ali from Pakistan and Qamurnnisa Masba from Sri Lanka. While Ali has been working at Syed Madani Hospital in Ullal and is in India from the past six years, the lady has married an Indian citizen in 2002.

Neither of them has got Indian citizenship, said Pandeshwars inspector Venkatesh Prasanna.
He is the same police officer who found out that there were two voters in the voters'' list in Attavar who were of foreign origin.
Prasanna said while the lady cannot apply for citizenship now, the doctor was renewing his Pakistani passport every year.
After the first two cases were found, he had taken steps to trace the whereabouts of foreign nationals without Indian citizenship and cross check whether their names were in the voters'' list.
This exercise again brings to light the ''diligence'' with which the officials prepare and scrutinise the voters'' list.
It is learnt that the investigation into the first case of a Pakistani and Sri Lankan national found on voters'' list, is in limbo. Sources said the deputy commissioner had directed the assistant commissioner to probe the case, but nothing has been done till date.
