2 held for theft in Gokul Industrial Estate

hubli: two persons have been nabbed in connection with a series of thefts in the industrial estate area of hubli on gokul road. police have recovered stolen goods from their possession. the duo has been identified as paccha alias yemanurappa kallawaddar and srinivas mahadevappa mallasamudra of phukat nagar, hubli. police said five others have already been rounded up in connection with various theft cases in the area, apart from the two arrested on wednesday.it may be recalled that the culprits had broken into five industrial sheds on gokul road and made away with valuables. the gokul road police have registered a case and investigations are on. belgaum cyclist knocked down: a 48-year-old cyclist was killed on the spot when a speeding ksrtc bus hit him near vanita vidyalaya on college road. the deceased has been identified as subhash dhondiba metkar. police said the person was a washerman and working for maratha light infantry. the belgaum traffic north police have registered a case. gamblers nabbed: four persons have been rounded up on charges of gambling in bailhongal village of belgaum. one of the arrested has been identified as chennappa fakirappa. police recovered rs 3,535 from the accused. in another incident, six persons were taken into custody for gambling in ashok nagar area. one of the arrested has been identified as chennabasappa balappa. the malamaruti police have registered a case and are investigating.
