BENGALURU: Five people belonging to two gangs were arrested for allegedly supplying and selling narcotics in the city. A gang of three was arrested by Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Monday from Suddaguntepalya, off Hosur Road, and MDMA, ganja, hashish oil and ecstasy pills all worth over Rs 23 lakh were recovered.
The accused are Anand Chandran KV, 29, of Kengeri, Abdul Khadeer, 28, and Saneer PR, 30, of Venkateshwara Layout in Suddaguntepalya.
Police said they received information about the gang storing narcotics in a flat at Venkateshwara Layout. A team headed by inspector BS Ashok rushed to the spot and arrested the suspects.
Preliminary investigation revealed Chandran had procured the drugs from a Ghana national and another supplier from Kerala. He took Khadeer and Saneer's help to sell them to customers in the city.
In the second case, Basavanagudi police arrested a gang of two and seized 116 kg of ganja. The accused are Palla Nagaraj, 30, and Negula Nukaraju, 26, both from Andhra Pradesh. Police said the duo brought the ganja to Basavanagudi.
