10k CCTV cams watching New Year revellers in Bengaluru: DK Shivakumar
BENGALURU: Karnataka deputy CM DK Shivakumar Sunday said at least 10,000 CCTV cameras will be closely monitoring all party zones and hubs in Bengaluru on Dec 31 as revellers are set to ring in New Year and warned "youngsters" against taking steps that might hurt the image of Bengaluru as "an international city".

The deputy CM told reporters that "every reveller's movement in Bengaluru is under watch and the govt will not tolerate any mischief during the celebrations".He clarified that the 7-day mourning for former PM Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday, is restricted to govt functions and events. "The govt will be issuing appropriate guidelines for businesses," he said.
