BANGALORE: Some 1,000 eligible candidates on Wednesday participated in a job fair organized by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) for villages near Devanahalli.
The fair was open to those aged between 18 and 40 years, with a minimum educational qualification of having passed sixth standard. Twelve companies that operate on the airport premises offered jobs in cargo operations, ground handling, air catering, taxi services, retail, airline operation and other support group services.
PB Ramamurthy, metropolitan commissioner, Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) said: "These events give opportunities to locals to work at the airport, thus encouraging development of villages and the BIA".
