10 Pakistan nationals living on fake IDs caught in Delhi, Rajasthan and UP

BENGALURU: Days after seven Pakistani nationals were arrested for living in Bengaluru with fake identities, district police Tuesday arrested 10 more, including six women, residing illegally under assumed Hindu names in several parts of the country.

Five of them were in Delhi, three in Rajasthan and two in Uttar Pradesh, police said. They were produced before a local court, which remanded them in judicial custody.

The arrests were made based on information provid- ed by Pervez Ahmed, a prominent Indian member of Mehdi Foundation International (MFI).

Police said Pervez is from UP’s Azamgarh , lives in Mumbai, and runs a furniture shop. Pervez was picked up last week during investigations.

He was suspected to have helped the Pakistanis get Aadhaar cards, voter IDs and passports to facilitate their stay in India.

Bengaluru district SP CK Baba said, “Investigation is in progress to find out how Pervez used to get funds to pay for illegally staying Pakistani nationals.”
