BENGALURU: 10 new positive Covid-19 cases were reported in
Karnataka on Friday morning, taking the total number of cases in the state to 207.
Among the new cases reported, five are from Mysuru, two from
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike
(BBMP) limits, two from Bengaluru rural limits and one from Kalaburagi.
Cases in BBMP limits include a 48-year-old male patient and a 57-year-old male patient both of whom had contact with two attendees of the event in New Delhi who tested positive. From Bengaluru rural, the 35-year-old brother of positive patient who had attended the event in New Delhi and has tested positive now. The 11-year-old daughter of the 35-year-old patient has also tested positive for the virus.
Among the five new cases in Mysuru, an 8-year-old male patient, a 33-year-old male patient, a 48-year-old female patient, a 28-year-old female patient and a 48-year-old female patient who tested positive on Friday morning are all linked to the
Nanjangud pharma
company cluster.
A 55-year-old male from Kalaburagi also tested positive on Friday morning. He has Severe Acute Respiratory Infection and also has a history of contact with a Delhi-returnee who tested negative.
